Students among four killed in crash....

KUANTAN: Three male students were among four people killed in a car-bus crash at KM23 of Jalan Lipis-Benta last night. Lipis police chief, Supt Abdul Razak Hassan said 20-year-old Ho Wai Kin, who
was driving a Toyota Vios car, and passengers Wong Kok Heng, 17, Wong Chin Xion,
15, and Yap Chung Hung, 15, were killed in the 11.45pm incident.

Another passenger, Chan Kwan Yong, 30, was critically injured while the
driver of the double-decker, 48, only sustained minor injuries and the 42 bus
passengers were unharmed.

He said the car driver from Benta Jaya, Lipis, operated excavators for a
living while Wong Kok Heng and Wong Chin Xion from Kampung Penjom, Lipis, were
students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Chung Hua, Sungai Kerpan, Kuala
Lipis and Yap, from the same village studied at SMK Setiawangsa, Kuala Lipis.

"The car was travelling from Penjom to Benta while the bus from Kuala Lumpur
was on its way to Kelantan when the car, which was believed to have entered the
opposite lane, collided head on with the bus," he said.

He added that the road was winding and dark where the accident occurred. The victims had been sent to the Lipis Hospital for post-mortem. -- Bernama
